What is Sports Massage?
Sports Massage is a therapeutic treatment which includes a range of techniques with the aim of alleviating stress and tension which often builds up in the soft tissues of the body as a result of regular physical activity, inactivity or psychosocial factors.
Soft tissue includes muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia (a band of connective tissue, mainly collagen, which serves to attach, stabilise, separate muscles and internal organs).
Who is Sports Massage For?
Anyone who regularly partakes in a physically demanding job (e.g. manual labour) or sedentary activity or job (e.g. computer work) which may contribute to putting the body through emotional and postural stress.
